Hey Dosh/Jack--

Hope things are well. I just wanted to Let you know I put your blue Q16 to the test today--Not only did we smash Halibut and limited out in an hour--
I took the Q16 out the gates 2 miles--Hooked a 12 foot wire leader--12 O/T Octopus to a 4 Pound Salmon Head--120# Power Pro = 1.5 Hr fight--into 10 foot swells and 3 foot chop on a 22 footer. We had to follow it 5 miles out to sea. Coast guard watching to make sure we weren't broke down! Crazy--I got it to the leader and All I saw was a Tail about as wide as my arms will stretch! Don't know what type of shark, but I have caught 20' hammerheads with less struggle. So whatever it was it was damn near the size of my boat and Pissed off! The reel was Awesome!!! AGAIN.

We fished a couple reels (Q16-II and Q12-IIHS) at the Oregon Tuna Classic in Charleston OR this summer. Generally we had been using other reels--Avet, Tiburon and Penn--but we were given the opportunity to try the Qualia reels for the tournament. While we had trouble with wind on tourney day, the pre-fishing was good...and these reels handled the albacore with plenty to spare. The drags are smooth on a troll bite, the reels have plenty of stopping/cranking power to bring in big fish, and overall we were very impressed.

If people are looking for tough, great-value offshore reels, these definately need to be high on the list.
